Drafthouse & The Academy Hosting 'An Afternoon of Saul Bass Shorts'

Check this out: Alamo Drafthouse is proud to announce its partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Academy Film Archive to highlight the work of legendary title sequence designer and director Saul Bass on December 1st! The day of Bass-related screenings include an afternoon of rarely-seen short works by Bass and an evening presentation of Bass’ sole feature directorial effort, the underappreciated sci-fi gem, Phase IV (presented in a brand new 35mm print!), in addition to the long-lost original end sequence, recently discovered by an Academy film archivist. This is awesome, I wish I could go. The Drafthouse announced the event today, with tickets going on sale on their site for both screenings of the Afternoon of Shorts and sci-fi Phase IV, directed by Saul Bass.
